Hearts of Oak reach agreement to sign Gladson Awako - Reports

Published on: 10 August 2021

Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Gladson Awako.

The report adds that Awako would undergo medical on Thursday before signing the contract.

The U20 World Cup winner announced last month that a decision on his future will be made known at the end of the season.

And barely three days after the season concluded with MTN FA Cup final which Hearts of Oak won, report has surafced that Awako has switched to the Phobians.

It is a big blow for Great Olympics, considering their player is joining the main rivals.

Few weeks after the league concluded, Great Olympics management met Awako and tried to convince him to stay at the club.

However, the report indicates that the deal is done and Awako will be announced by Hearts of Oak in the coming days.

It would come as no surprise if the report is confirmed because the club and player never hid their intention of working together.

Hearts are building a competitive team for next season, that will see them return to continental football by playing in the CAF Champions League.

They have already signed former Medeama forward Isaac Agyenim Boateng on a long-term deal.
