Hearts of Oak board member and supporters leader Mr. Elvis Herman Hesse has kicked against the calls for the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season.

There have been divided opinions on whether to continue the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League campaign and annul the competition due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ghana Premier League together with all other football competitions have been suspended since 15 March 2020 following the rapid widespread of the deadly disease.

Even though Mr. Hesse is against the idea of cancelling the 2019/2020 season, he also doesn't support playing the matches behind closed doors.

The current situation requires that if football will be replayed again in the country, it must be played behind closed doors.

"I don’t support the idea of playing behind closed doors. Maybe I will get the opportunity to watch but playing behind closed doors is a no for me," Mr. Hesse told Happy FM.

"The GFA shouldn’t cancel the season but they should rather engage the clubs on the way forward."

The Phobians were sitting at the 8th position on the league standings before its suspension, seven points behind leaders Aduana Stars.
