Hearts of Oak Supporters Group Vice Chairman, Salisu Joe has disclosed that contact has been made with striker Joseph Esso to lower his demands as they want him to stay at the club.

Joseph Esso has parted ways with the club after failing to agree to a new deal with the Phobians.

The former Ebusua Dwarfs striker is reported to have demanded $1,000 monthly salary on a one-year deal which the club could not meet.

Hearts of Oak on Friday announced it had parted ways with Esso and four other players following the expiration of their contracts.

The shocking news of Esso's exit has not been welcomed by the supporters as talks are underway to ensure he reconsiders his decision to sign a new deal.

"Many of us were taken aback at the news of the release of Joseph Esso so we spoke to management to find out and later met Joseph Esso", the Vice-Chairman Salu Joe told Oyerepa FM.

"One thing we realised was that both parties were not ready to come to a compromise, they had to take entrenched positions but have told the player to come down on his demands of GHc 50,000 for a year, the amount is not that an issue but the duration he wants to sign"

"We are waiting to hear from the player and then meet management also so we find a way out of this",he added.
