Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak could play Egyptian giants Zamalek in a charity match as part of their centenary celebrations in November.

Hearts have held preliminary discussions with the Cairo-based side on 13 November at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The 2000 African champions’ birthday falls on 11 November.

"We are poised to take part in the centennial celebrations of Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak in November," a Zamalek statement read.

"We have principally accepted the offer, but a final decision shall be made by new coach Hassan Shehata in regard to the team’s fixture.''

Five-time African champions Zamalek are also marking 100-years of existence and have planned to play English Premier League side Liverpool in October in Cairo.
