Hearts risk losing Mahatma Otoo for nothing
Mahatma Otoo has stalled moves to extend his contract

Hearts could end up losing Mahatma Otoo on a free transfer after the striker refused to sign contract extension, GHANAsoccernet.com reveal.

The capital-based side have offered Otoo a one-year deal but the player is reluctant to sign the dotted lines as he eyes a move away from the club.

He could make the decision to walk away from the club on a free transfer when he would surely have his pick of clubs.

Otoo has refused to respond to a two-week ultimatum to decide whether he will renew his stay or not.

The highly-rated attacker has entered the final four months of his contract and would be able to speak to any club if no deal has been agreed.

That situation if not changed in the months ahead, will see Hearts earning nothing if he eventually decides to leave at the end of the season.

Kotoko have officially requested for his services which has heigheted speculations surrounding his long-term future at the club.

Otoo has distinguished himself this season with stand-out performances for the Phobians and would still be considered their number striker even if he did not sign a new deal.

Otoo is expected to spearhead their attack when they host their sworn rivals Kotoko in the country’s version of the El-Classico on Sunday.
