Hearts have ruled out signing Aduana Stars defender Godfred Saka – following weeks of intense speculation.

The capital-based side have been linked with the experienced right-back for close to three seasons but intensified their pursuit of the impressive player this term.

Saka was believed to be nearing a move to Accra with the deal reported to be firming up by the close of the week.

But Hearts spokesman Muheed Saed has dismissed speculations surrounding the player.

“There have been so many names being speculated in the local media but Godfred Saka is not one of them, “he said

“We have no interest in signing him from Aduana Stars.

“Our focus is on goalkeeper Stephen Adams but not Saka. He is not in our plans at all.”

Hearts were beaten 2-1 by second-tier Tema Youth during a low profile pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
