Berekum Arsenals defender Kofi Agyare has been confirmed as a summer signing for Premier League giants Hearts of Oak.

The Accra-based club has also secured the first to buy option of another Arsenals player Richard Bonsu who is currently on trials with an unnamed Egyptian club.

It is however unclear how many years Agyare has been signed and the money involved in the transaction.

"I can confirm that Kofi Agyare's deal with Hearts of Oak has been cemented," Arsenals general secretary Douglas Effah told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

"Bonsu was also wanted by Hearts but an Egyptian club had earlier expressed interests and he is currently on trials there but if he returns we will conclude a deal with Hearts."

The former Kessben player was part of an initial 41-man Ghana squad that took part in the inaugural CHAN competition in Ivory Coast in 2008.

He is expected to replace departed Karim Alhassan who joined Egyptian club Zamalek earlier this month.
