Hearts slap indefinite suspension on Agyare for bribery rant

Hearts of Oak have imposed and indefinite suspension on defender Kofi Agyare for making unsubstantiated bribery allegations.

The former Berekum Arsenals player alleged last month he was offered a bribe to play it soft against his current team while with Kessben FC.

However after his inability to prove his claim when given the opportunity to defend himself, the club have decided to suspend him indefinitely without pay even after his profuse apologies.

Below is the full statement signed by Hearts’ General Manager Ashford Tettey Oku over Agyare’s suspension.

“Further to principles of natural justice, we did offer you the opportunity on on 27th June, 2012 to confirm or deny allegations you made in sections of the media against the club,” portions of a statement signed by Hearts’ General read.

“Unfortunately after a playback of your voice, you were unable to substantiate allegations of alleged imputation of bribery to you in our match against AshGold on 29th February, 2012 nor identify the Management Member of the club wjo attempted to bribe you when you were with Kessben between 2007/2009.

“Accordingly, we have decided to suspend you indefinitely without salary with immediate effect.

“In addition, you are required to formally render an unqualified apology to the club and its teeming supporters, especially in the same media you used to denigrate the club.”
