Striker Mahatma Otoo will pick up the Top Scorer Award in the Black Meteors' division at the maiden National Player Awards.

The Hearts of Oak player is being recognised for the key role he played for the national U-23 side in their historic gold medal feat at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo Mozambique where he emerged the top scorer with four goals.

The 20-year-old will be decorated with his award at a glamorous ceremony at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on June 22.

Otoo will also contest the Most Dedicated Player Award in the same division alongside defender Rashid Sumaila and goalkeeper Daniel Agyei.

The Liberty goalkeeper who captained the side at the All Africa Games will then challenge Rashid Sumaila and Richard Mpong for the Most Outstanding Player award.

Winners of the competitive categories will be determined by a seven-member panel chaired by former Ghana FA boss Ben Koufie.

The National Player Awards is an initiative of Proton Sports Service in conjunction with the Ghana FA and the Retired Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG).

It is aimed at acknowledging the immense contributions made by individuals who have  donned the jersey if the various national teams.
