Hearts' win over Lions was well planned - Tanko Mohammed

Assistant coach Tanko Mohammed insists Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 Premier League win over Heart of Lions on Sunday was pre-meditated on the training grounds.

The Phobians secured maximum points through an 18th minute strike by Mahatma Otoo in the game that saw the return of goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy and star midfielder Laryea Kingston back in the Hearts line up.

And Tanko says the victory is the result of intense hardwork on the training grounds.

“We really worked for it so I am not surprised with the win,” he said.

“We played them some few weeks back and we realized they had a packed midfield so we needed to devise new means to beat them therefore our decision to use the wings more.

“And in the end we got the deserved results so we are very happy with the win.”

Tanko was also full of praise for Laryea Kingston who joined Hearts in the January transfer window after failed attempts to secure a move to Europe.

“Well you have seen it for yourself we are very much grateful.”
