Hellas Verona have confirmed that the injury suffered by midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is nowhere near as bad as initially feared, but will remain under observation for some time before he is discharged from the hospital.

Badu was replaced with Lucas Felippe Martello in the 68th minute of the Gialloblu 2-0 defeat against Brescia over the weekend.

The Ghana midfielder collided with an opponent in an aerial duel which forced coach Ivan Juric to effect the change after he complained about dizziness.

His Computed Tomography (CT) scan result is not a positive one, according to a statement from the club over his health conditions.

Following a scan over his health conditions, the club have announced that the on-loan Udinese man remains asymptomatic as he is still recovering from the injury setback.

The Verona-based outfit added that the midfielder is still under the microscope as they look forward to his discharging from the health centre.

A statement from the club reads: "The CT scan and the tests he (Agyemang Badu) underwent yesterday evening, Sunday 5 June, which at the time of substitution during Brescia-Hellas Verona had complained of dizziness following a fortuitous air game clash, all gave negative results.

"The Ghanaian footballer remained under observation for a few hours at the 'Spedali Civili' of Brescia to then be discharged late in the evening and return to Peschiera.

"Badu is now well and asymptomatic. His condition will be monitored in the next few hours anyway."

Badu has described 2019 and 2020 as the toughest years of his life after battling with a serious illness and losing his sister.

He spent the bulk of 2019 on the sidelines first with a knee injury before suffering a pulmonary embolism.

It threatened to put his season in jeopardy, but he made his comeback in January, featuring four times before Serie A was suspended due to the coronavirus.

While in self-isolation, Agyemang-Badu lost his sister in a shooting incident in his Ghanaian hometown of Berekum.
