Hoffenheim coach credits Ghana for Vorsah transformation

Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick says his defender Isaac Vorsah has improved because of his recent regular appearances for Ghana.

Vorsah scored his second goal in as many matches for the club on Friday as they defeated rivals Schalke in a Bundesliga game.

The Black Stars centre-back's confidence has gone sky high since gaining a regular place in the Black Stars in January.

Vorsah has formed a fantastic partnership with John Mensah at the heart of the Ghana defence, steering the country to the quarter finals of the World Cup in July.

He only became a regular starter in the Ghana starting line-up in January at the African Cup of Nations in the absence of Mensah.

Eric Addo was dropped in favour of the Vorsah when Mensah returned and that has had a trickle-down effect on his club performances.

He has been resolute in defence in the Bundesliga so far and has scored two goals in two matches for the club in the two previous matches.

Ragnick admits that his regular action for the Black Stars alongside Ghana's world club players is what has transformed the towering defender.

Vorsah opened the scoring for Hoffenheim in their game against Schalke on Friday which prompted the coach to reveal the secret of the Ghanaian's success.

Rangnick was effusive with praise, stating: “Vorsah has in recent weeks become more self-confidence, thanks to his appointment to the national team of Ghana.

"I am very satisfied with his overall performance.”

With nine points already, Hoffenheim top the German top flight, though with four other teams presently boasting a perfect record, they’ll likely be joined at the summit over the course of the weekend.
