Hoffenheim coach keen on Ghana post

Published on: 25 November 2010

Hoffenheim coach Ralf Rangnick is keen on coaching World Cup quarter finalists Ghana, sources in Germany have told Ghanasoccernet.com.

The Bundesliga trainer is said to have privately discussed with friends his interest in taking the Black Stars vacant post.

It is however not known if he has approached the Ghana Football Association with his interest in the vacant post.

The Ghana FA has refused to comment whether it has approached Rangnick.

But he is counting on his strong experience at the highest level of football as his selling point.

His experiences with Ghanaian defender Isaac Vorsah and compatriot Prince Tagoe will count in his favour if he expresses interest.

This comes event though the Ghana FA has shortlisted nine coaches for job including those who applied for it and those who were headhunted.

Rangnick has been credited for Hoffenheim's transformation from also-rans to title contenders.

Ghana is expected to name its coach next month.
