Hohoe United stage comeback to edge Akatsi All Stars in five-goal thriller

Access Bank Division One League Zone III leaders Hohoe United produced a stunning comeback to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory over Akatsi All Stars at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday.

John Ocansey fired Akatsi All Stars ahead with a brace in the 11th and 39th minutes, putting the visitors in control.

However, Faruk Mohammed pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute to give Hohoe United hope before halftime.

The home side leveled the score in the 68th minute through Djanfarou Mumuni before William Oduro struck the winner in stoppage time to seal an emphatic victory. Oduro’s heroics earned him the Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, former Premier League side Great Olympics were held to a 1-1 draw at Kings Palaces.

Isaac Mensah put Olympics ahead in the third minute, but Atadana Edward Kwame equalised in the 49th minute. Great Olympics remain second in the standings with 32 points.

Elsewhere, Home Stars secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over former Premier League side Okwawu United at the Ho Sports Stadium.

Ronald Numenya’s early strike in the seventh minute proved to be the difference, earning Home Stars their third home victory of the season.
