Holders Nania FC eliminated from MTN FA Cup

Ghana FA Cup holders Nania FC have been bundled out of the competition after losing 1-0 at home to Great Olympics on Wednesday afternoon.

A perfect cross from Mike Osai in the first half found an unmarked Daniel Clottey who had the easiest task of tapping from close range to hand Olympics to end Nania's reign which last for five months.

Olympics were the better side on the day as they outclassed their hosts at the Legon Park with a sublime performance.

The former Ghana top flight side played with no trepidation and took the game to the defending champions.

Nania played without some of their influential players who helped them clinch the title in July.

They were strong in the challenge and quick to the ball.

Olympics looked like a team that seemed to have found their feet and rediscovered some pride capable of qualifying to the Ghana Premier League.

"When the draw was announced, I knew we had a chance. I studied their videos and we planned against them," Olympics coach Walter Yankah said.

"The way they play, it's only 4-3-3 that can stop them. That was how we lined up and we stopped them. But they are a good side and we are also a good side."
