Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss the rest of the season and also the Nations League finals for England in June after undergoing surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The 18-year-old Hudson-Odoi was hurt in Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Burnley in the Premier League on Monday. He has only recently become a regular starter for his club, and made his first start for England last month.

Chelsea said in a statement on Wednesday that Hudson-Odoi "will miss the rest of this campaign and will spend the summer undergoing rehabilitation in order to resume full training as soon as possible."

Chelsea are battling to finish in the top four of the Premier League with three games to go and have also reached the semifinals of the Europa League.

England plays the Netherlands in the Nations League semifinals on June 6 in Portugal.
