Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Kwame Bonsu has revealed that he advised team mate George Ifenyi not to travel with his private car prior to his death.
George Ifenyi died on Sunday through a car traffic accident alongside two others.
The Nigerian forward was driving to Lagos from Enugu when his vehicle collided into a stationary truck.
The player was returning home after being granted leave by Rangers due to the NPFL suspension amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“He left camp because we were on break because of the coronavirus"
“We woke up in in the morning (Sunday) and heard the unfortunate incident that he has been involved in an accident”, he added.
Nana Bonsu paid tribute to the Nigerian striker.
"He was a friendly guy and a good player".
