I am growing fat- Prison Ladies player cries out

The absence of football due to the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be taking a heavy toll on players as they struggle to maintain their fitness and physique.

Prison Ladies player Helena Obeng is among the few players to openly come out to admit struggling to maintain their fitness as the season is on break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The footballer who is also a Police Officer says eating and sleeping after work has been a routine lately due to the absence of football.

"I’m growing fat because I lack training time due to my job. Eating and sleeping have been a routine thing after work. The break has really affected us because we will need new stamina to deliver if the league resumes”, she told OTEC FM.

The 2019/20 Ghanaian football season was suspended in March this year due to the coronavirus pandemic with Ghana recording over 6000 cases as of 22 April.

With no data to determine when football can safely resume and the FA also yet to announce whether the season will be truncated or not players have no choice at the moment on what to do.
