I didn't sign for Hearts of Oak because their training ground was bad - Former Kotoko defender Prince Anokye
Prince Anokye has signed a two-year deal with Ashantigold

Former Asante Kotoko defender Prince Anokye has revealed he had the opportunity to join Hearts of Oak but he turned them down because their training ground was bad.

Anokye in an interview with Angel FM in Kumasi disclosed that the nature of the Phobians training ground then was below standards and that discouraged him from wearing the rainbow colours.

“I remember a staunch Hearts of Oak fan (Kanawu) sent me to the club to train with them. At that time he wanted me to join the rainbow boys but the truth is that the bad nature of their training ground discouraged me”

“In fact when he sent me there I didn’t play. The moment I saw their training ground I decided not to play for the club because I wasn’t happy at all” he said.

The 32-year-old, who left Kotoko for Berekum Chelsea and later played for Ashanti Gold, is currently without a club.
