English-born Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has praised his teammates following his impressive brace that helped Sheffield United secure a crucial 2-0 victory over Luton Town in the English Championship.
Rak-Sakyi celebrated his 22nd birthday in style, scoring both goals in the Week 9 fixture at Bramall Lane. The Crystal Palace loanee played a key role in the match, with his first goal coming in the 12th minute after latching onto a perfectly lobbed pass from Anel AhmedhodžiÄ. He then doubled the Blades' lead in the 52nd minute, slotting a low shot past Luton’s goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski.
Despite Luton Town applying late pressure, Sheffield United held firm, with Rak-Sakyi's goals proving decisive.
Reflecting on his performance, Rak-Sakyi was quick to credit those around him. "I know it's been hard obviously to get into the flow. But I have good teammates around me, good coaches that push me every day in training and believe in me, so I'm just happy that today it pulled off, and long may it continue," he said.
After being named Player of the Year during his loan spell at Charlton Athletic last season, Rak-Sakyi has quickly made his mark at Sheffield United and is becoming a key figure in their Championship campaign.
