Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini has admitted that he made a crucial mistake in the match against Slavia Prague, where he received a red card just 21 minutes into the game. This match was the second leg of the UEFA Champions League qualification playoff.

As a result of the early dismissal, his team, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, was eliminated from the competition and will now compete in the Europa League.

The straight red card meant that Fuseini missed their opening Europa League match against Fenerbahce.

“I thought about what I did the last time and I just knew that I messed up big time.

“Because playing against Fenerbahce would have been a great test for me. But then things happen for a reason so I just have to learn from my mistakes and then move on with it.

“And then I have one more game to miss. And then hopefully the next game I will be available for the team.”

In eight league appearances this season, Mohammed Fuseini has scored three goals and provided one assist.
