Asante Kotoko head coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin could not help but thank his star that his outfit lost by just 3-1 against Karela FC Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The league newcomers opened the scoring through Ibrahim Moro in the 23rd minute before Sonnie Yacouba pulled parity 10 minutes later.

But the Anyinase-based side were too much for the Porcupine Warriors to handle as they went ahead again on the stroke of half time via former Wa All Stars midfielder Ismail Ganiyu before Maxwell Baakoh sealed a famous victory for the hosts in the 72nd minute.

"They scored two goals in the first half and scored one in the second half, if not for the brilliance of our goalkeeper, they would have scored more", he explained.

"So we thank God we lost by three goals to one," Fabin told the media after the game.

Kotoko will hope to bounce back on Sunday when they host Bechem United at the Baba Sports Stadium.
