Legon Cities director, John Paintsil revealed that he told Fatau Dauda of their future partnership long before he signed for Legon Cities.

Fatau Dauda and John Paintsil played together in the Black Stars and the retired fullback told Joy FM that he was in communication with the goalkeeper after he retired from the national team.

"Fatau is a leader in our team. We have been together in the national team. We met in South Africa and talked, I was a coach then. I told him that we will work together but we didn’t know when. I was training Fatau for two and half years now".

"When Wa All Stars came up, I contacted him and told him our plans and added that if everything goes well, he will become our number one choice," he added.

Fatau Dauda is now the undisputed first choice goalkeeper for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities who have accumulated 11 points in 10 league matches this season.
