Hearts of Oak's midfield Kingpin Malik Akowuah has promised fans of the club that the team will be back to it's glory days sooner than they expect after their impressive 3-1 win over Medeama SC in a high profile friendly on Sunday.

The encounter formed part of activities to mark the celebrations of the Amankuma Festivals and it was the Phobians, who claimed victory thanks to a brace by Selasie Bakai.

“Things will get better. The Hearts of Oak supporters who are not happy today because of recent decline  will soon start smiling.” a confident Akowuah said on Sunday.

“You can all see the changes in the team now. We are gradually picking up and I want to assure the fans they are going to see a stronger Hearts of Oak soon” the former Medeama midfield enforcer added.

Hearts took the lead in the first half through Joseph Esso, who calmly converted a penalty.

The lead was extended by Bakai in the 75th minute, however, midfielder Justice Blay reduced the deficit for the Mauves.

With two minutes of normal time remaining, Bakai scored again to ensure Kim Grant's side left Tarkwa all smiles.
