Former Hearts of Oak winger Laryea Kingston says he 'will be very happy' if ex-teammates at the national team, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan play in the Ghana Premier League before retiring.

Both players have been linked with Ghana's glamorous clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

Muntari was earlier reported to be joining the Phobians, with board member of the club Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe insisting the club's door is open for the Ghana legend.

Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan has not hid his admiration for the Porcupine Warriors, revealing he will retire at the Kumasi based outfit.

Laryea Kingston, who played for Hearts before hanging his boots believes the return of Gyan and Muntari will add to the league's popularity.

“I think they [Muntari and Gyan] coming into the league will be a huge boost. They have achieved a lot in Europe. I think that everyone would want to come and watch them play in the league. For me I will be very happy if they come," Laryea told Joy Sports.

The Ghana Premier League is currently on hold due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
