Striker Eric Bekoe insists his heart is still with Asante Kotoko despite moving to Berekum Chelsea on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old sealed his move the the 2010 Ghana Premier League champions on Tuesday haven seen his preferred return to Kotoko collapse at the last minute.

Bekoe had initially agreed in principle to join the Kumasi-based club following the termination of his contract with Egyptian club Petrojet.

But an unforeseen disagreement over the terms of his contract saw the move fall through with Bekoe now joining Chelsea who are looking to regain the league trophy they lost to Kotoko this term.

The 2008 Premier League Goal King however says he will forever remain an ardent supporter of the Porcupine Warriors.

"I want to thank the Kumasi people for the wonderful memories during my time with Asante Kotoko, they will forever remain in my heart," he told Angel FM.

"I have now joined Berekum Chelsea but I will forever remain a Kotoko supporter.

"It only happens that due to the nature of my chosen profession I now play for Chelsea but that wouldn't change my love and admiration for Asante Kotoko."

Bekoe is qualified to be registered for the new Premier League season under special dispensation following the closure of the registration process last Friday.
