Ghana legend Michael Essien has been unable to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo debate on who is the greatest Player of all time.
Messi and Ronaldo have ruled football for more than a decade, with the Argentine star winning eight Ballon d’Or awards, where as his direct rival has five.
Speaking to Sporty FM, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea star botched to commit to answer, as to whom is the greatest player of all-time.
"Between Ronaldo and Messi, I won’t pick one over the other. Ronaldo is a nice guy who works a lot. We should appreciate and enjoy them because they’ve stayed at the top of football for over 15-20 years." He said.
Currently, the Portuguese star plies his trade in the Saudi Professional League for Al Nassr whiles Lionel Messi trade with Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer.
Messi finally won the FIFA World Cup title in 2022 after leading Argentina to beat France in the final in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo, who recently turned 40-years has yet to win the biggest soccer mundial, the only trophy that has eluded the former Real Madrid star.
