Ibrahimovic could leave AC Milan but continue career in Serie A

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly decided to continue his career past this season, though that may occur at a different Serie A club.

The Serie A campaign is currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, and that seems to have had an impact on the Swede as well.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Ibrahimovic wants to continue his career past the current campaign, as he doesn’t want to call it quits after an unfinished season.

At this time it appears Milan are willing to engage in extension talks with the 38-year-old, but it remains to be seen whether the two parties can agree on terms.

Rossoneri CEO Ivan Gazidis has been cuttings costs at the club in recent months, and while an exception was made to sign Zlatan in January, it is unclear whether that policy will continue.

Another sticking point is the sacking of sporting director Zvonimir Boban, as it’s believed the Swede wasn’t happy with recent developments at the club.

As a result other Serie A clubs are on alert should the two sides call it quits.
