Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso continued his impressive start to the Portuguese league season to help Rio Ave post a 1-0 victory over Boavista.

The 23-year-old produced another world class display in the middle of the pitch to help his side to victory.

Alhassan lasted 75 minutes on the pitch, the very first time he was substituted in a game this season.

Brazilian born Renan Bressan secured all three points for Rio Ave with virtually the last kick of the game with a well struck goal.

The win lifts Rio Ave to second on the league table with 14 points from seven games.
