Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Schindler is set to leave German Bundesliga II side Holstein Kiel on a free transfer in the summer.

Schindler, who has been in prime form this season, has stood out as one of the best offensive players in the German second-tier side, with 5 assists and 5 goals to his name for the ongoing campaign.

But the versatile midfielder will be out of contract at Holstein Kiel in July which has prompted interests from club in the German Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old was earlier linked with a move to Bundesliga strugglers FC Nuremberg but latest report suggest that FC Dusseldorf has jumped ahead of their rivals in the queue to acquire the Ghanaian services after opening talks with the player's representatives.

However, further reports indicate that Kiel are working around the clock to sell him during the January transfer window in order to avoid losing the player for free in the summer.

He joined the Storks from TSG Hoffenheim II in 2016.
