Manchester United have secured the services of Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich, as the Red Devils look to replace the injured Christian Eriksen. The Austria international, who has made 17 appearances for the Bundesliga giants this season, is set to join the Old Trafford club until the end of the campaign.

Eriksen’s injury has prompted manager Erik ten Hag to act quickly, with Sabitzer becoming the preferred choice for the role. The 28-year-old, who has primarily been used as a substitute by Bayern this term, is expected to see more game time at United.

As news of Eriksen’s setback spread, a host of agents reached out to United with proposals for their clients. The four players touted to fill the gap left by the Danish playmaker were Isco, Saul Niguez, Houssem Aouar, and Yannick Carrasco. However, it is understood that United were not interested in acquiring any of them.

In the event that the Sabitzer deal fell through, the Premier League club were reportedly considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada. The Japan international, who is 26 years old, is set to become a free agent at the end of the current season, and United are said to have enquired about his availability.

But the loan agreement for Sabitzer remains the top priority for United, as they look to bolster their midfield options for the rest of the campaign. The talented midfielder will bring a wealth of experience to Old Trafford, having won numerous titles in his time at Bayern, and is expected to make a big impact at United.
