The Gunners have been seeking reinforcement in the defensive midfield position with Thomas Partey’s situation a cause for concern for Mikel Arteta and their title charge.

Jorginho has struggled for a place in Graham Potter’s Chelsea lineup with the 31-year-old seeking a fresh challenge with fellow London side.

The Italian midfielder has been criticized recently for his poor defensive display during the Blues’ tumultuous spell under new manager Graham Potter.

Jorginho is expected to deputize Thomas Partey in the deep-lying midfield position with the Ghanaian international causing an injury scare in Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Man City in the FA Cup on Friday.

Jorginho will be hoping to make his debut for his new side away at Everton on Saturday in the Premier League as the Gunners continue their incredible run in league with hopes of clinching a first premier league title since 2004.
