Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa have released their last Premier League starting lineups before the World Cup break for today’s matchday 16 clash.

Brighton are on a roll, thanks to their recent form. The Seagulls pulled off big wins over Chelsea in the league and against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Carabao Cup third round and will look to continue their top form today.

Aston Villa won their last Premier League game 3-1 against Manchester United to hand new boss Unai Emery a convincing start to his Villa career but fell short in the Carabao Cup when they lost 4-2 at Old Trafford to Man United.

The Villas are keen on getting back to winning ways but they head into the Amex Stadium as the underdogs. The last time they played underdogs in the league, they beat Man United and that should be some positive for the former Villarreal boss.

Brighton & Hove Albion starting lineup

Goalkeeper: Sanchez

Defenders: Dunk, Colwell, Gross, Estupinan

Midfielders: Caicedo, Mac Allister, Lallana

Forwards: March, Welbeck, Trossard

Aston Villa starting lineup

Goalkeeper: Martinez

Defenders: Cash, Mings, Konsa, Digne

Midfielders: McGinn, Luiz, Kamara

Forwards: Buendia, Ings, Ramsey

Brighton & Hove Albion are currently occupying the 7th position with 21 points after 14 matches. A win over Villa this afternoon will take them as high as 5th but that depends on the result between Fulham vs Manchester United later today.

Aston Villa are in the 15th position with 15 points after 14 matches. They can go as high as 12th if they pull off an unlikely win at Brighton today.
