Portugal international and the Red Devils have decided to part ways with a ‘mutual agreement’ following the 37-year-old’s recent explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
The five-time Ballon D’Or winner has become a free agent and will be in search of a new club in the January transfer window.
Furthermore, fellow Premier League rival Chelsea remain interested in the forward’s services and Stamford Bridge could be the next destination for the superstar.
Speaking to BBC Sport, the United and England legend talked about Ronalod’s next chapter as his move to London becomes more and more realistic.
“I think both parties will be delighted now. He has obviously done that with the mindset that he wanted to get out of the football club and wasn’t happy.
“He made that very clear. I also think that Ten Hag has got what he wanted in this situation. Both parties are happy. Move on and it’s the next chapter for Ronaldo.”
