Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction One – Handicap (-5) for Kasatkina – 1.61.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction Two – Total Games Under 20.5 – 1.60.
Daria entered the tournament in Granby in order to break her losing streak and get the practice she needs ahead of the US Open. It is unlikely that Kasatkina plans to lose in the first round. More so, her opponent is not only inferior in class, but also in bad playing form.
There is a noticeable difference in class between the two opponents. Kasatkina has a rich technical arsenal, especially on the receiving end. We don’t expect the match to last longer tonight.b
Kasatkina was hardly going to play in this tournament, but after her recent failures, it is a logical decision.
The fact is that Daria did not make it past a single round in Toronto and Cincinnati. This is the reason why she decided to play in Granby, understanding that it is important to play at least a few more matches before the US Open.
In Toronto, Daria immediately lost to Bianca Andreescu (6-7, 4-6). In Cincinnati, she was stopped by Amanda Anisimova (4-6, 4-6). Not easy opponents, but a completely different result was expected from Kasatkina.
In early August, Daria took the title in San Jose, defeating Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, Paula Badosa and Shelby Rogers in the course of the tournament. After that, of course, there was every reason to think that she would do well in major tournaments as well, but it didn’t turn out that way.
In four of Daria Kasatkina’s last five matches against top-50 players on hard court, more than 20.5 games have been played.
Minnen, meanwhile, has not been able to show off at all lately. She has not won once so far this month.
In early August, Greet lost to Kaia Kanepi (3-6, 3-6 )in the first round of the Citi Open. Shortly after that, she lost to Katie Volynets (4-6, 7-5, 4-6) at the Thoreau Tennis Open.
There was one positive moment, though. In late June, Minnen sensationally defeated Garbine Muguruza in the first round of Wimbledon. Next up was a loss to Zheng Qinwen.
Minnen has not won a single hard-court match this season at the WTA main draw level.
Greet Minnen has lost seven straight on the hard court.
In Kasatkina’s last three matches, more than 9.5 games were played in the first set. We offer to bet on “1st Set Games – Over 9.5” with odds of 2.62.
