Novak Djokovic reached the semi-finals of the Rome Masters for the ninth consecutive time.
On Friday, Novak beat Felix Auger-Aliassime. By the way, it was his 999th career victory. The match turned out to be absolutely crazy. The Serb led with a break in the first set but then lost a game on his serve as well. But at 5:5 the Canadian was mistaken again.
The second set followed a similar scenario. Djokovic failed to serve for the match at 5:3, and eventually, the showdown came to a tie-break, but here Novak played just perfect.
Djokovic played another classy match. Despite some mistakes, it is clear that he is capable of playing at the highest level again.

Ruud, meanwhile, will play in the Masters’ semi-finals for the fifth time in his career.
On Friday, Casper defeated Denis Shapovalov (7-6, 7-5), who had previously stopped Rafael Nadal.
On the one hand, it’s a bit strange that Shapovalov beat Nadal but lost to Ruud. However, really, there’s nothing surprising here. The Canadian had a bit of luck in his match against Rafa. In the third set, Nadal was having trouble moving around due to a foot injury.
