Inaki Williams aiming to end Black Stars goal drought against Chad

Published on: 20 March 2025

Ghana forward Inaki Williams has made a bold promise to end his goal-scoring drought for the Black Stars in their upcoming match against Chad on Friday.

Despite his impressive performances for Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish League, Inaki has struggled to replicate his club form for Ghana, scoring only one goal in 17 appearances.

However, Inaki is confident that he will find the back of the net against Chad, saying in a video shared by the Ghana Football Association (GFA): "Hello, Ghanaians. How are you doing? I'm home. On Friday, I'll score a goal. See you."

This statement underscores Inaki's determination to make a meaningful impact on the pitch and help Ghana secure a crucial win.

The Black Stars are currently third in Group I, level on points with second-place Comoros, and need victories against Chad and Madagascar to boost their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

Inaki's words reflect the confidence and commitment among the players in camp, and he has also urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team, saying:

"Hi, this is Inaki Williams. We need you to support us in these crucial games because together we are stronger."
