2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 24 Match Report- Asante Kotoko 2-1 Ebusua Dwarfs

Published on: 13 May 2021

Asante Kotoko extended their lead at the summit of the table with a comeback 2-1 win over Ebusua Dwarfs in the Ghana Premier League on Thursday.

Winger Emmanuel Gyamfi's brace ensured the Porcupine Warriors maintain a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Dennis Nkrumah opened the scoring for the visitors with a sublime finish but Kotoko pulled parity after just four minutes.

Captain Emmanuel Gyamfi rose above everyone with a thumping header to beat goalkeeper Issah Razak to level the score at the Len Clay stadium.

Kotoko went infront for the first time after Gyamfi again capitalized on a goalkeeping howler from Razak to score the second.

The record Ghana Premier League champions held onto the win to stretch their lead to four points from 24 matches.

Kotoko have 44 points, four more than rivals Hearts of Oak and Medeama as well as Great Olympics who battle Aduana Stars on Thursday evening.
