Great Olympic rallied to draw 1-1 with Wlmina Sharks on matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Sharks were determined to bounce back from last week’s disappointment in Berekum where they were beaten 2-1 by Berekum Chelsea.

Odartey Lamptey's men began the match very confident, displaying some neat ball play to the delight of the sizable fans at the Ndoum Sports Complex.

The hosts deservedly shot into the lead courtesy a thumping header from budding defender Tahir Mensah on the stroke of half time.

Sharks came back from the break with the same desire to snap the maximum points by pressing their opponents.

Olympics midway through the encounter found their rhythm and started making incursions but failed to make it count on the scoresheet.

The Dade Boys kept pushing until the last moment of the game when Maxwell Abbey struck from close range to draw his side level.

The result means Great Olympics have closed the gap between them and Asante Kotoko to 7 points after the Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 to Hearts of Oak in the top of the table clash.

Sharks meanwhile remain 15th with 35 points from 31 matches.
