2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Week 17 Match Report- Berekum Chelsea 1-1 Bechem United

Published on: 11 February 2022

Emmanuel Annor's late leveler was enough as Bechem United extended their unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League to nine matches after holding Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

The hosts broke the game's deadlock after 31 minutes through experienced forward Kofi Owusu, but could not make it three wins on a row after Annor's equalizer.

With both team going into the game on a good run, it was expected to be a pulsating encounter at the Golden City Park.

Chelsea started the game well and dominated early proceeding but Bechem United proved the meanest defence in the topflight as they contained the attack of their hosts.

However, exactly at the half hour mark, a momentary lapse of concentration saw Kofi Owusu pounce on a chance to net the opener.

Bechem United were awoken and started to chase for the equalizer.

And with 15 minutes remaining Emmanuel Annor fired home for the visitors as the two sides shared the spoils in Berekum.

Bechem United will next travel to Tarkwa to play Medeama while Berekum Chelsea host Bibiani Gold Stars.
