Legon Cities won against Elmina Sharks on Sunday, following up on their shocking victory over Asante Kotoko the previous weekend.
The Accra-based club added to the bottom-placed club's woes with goals from Michel Otou and Hans Kwofie sealing a 2-0 victory.
After 16 minutes, Otou converted from the spot to give Cities the lead. It was his second goal in two games, after scoring a penalty against Kotoko.
Kwofie, who was on target against Kotoko, added a second goal for the home team after the break.
Sharks did not fight back and succumbed to their 17th defeat in what has been a dreadful season. Sharks are bound to be demoted because they are 11 points from safety.
Cities, on the other hand, have re-entered the race for a top-four finish. With seven games remaining, the gap between them and fourth-placed Medeama is only three points.
