Published on: 06 May 2022

Great Olympics recorded a deserving 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon to end their recent slump in the Ghana Premier League.

The matchweek 23 win has seen the Dade Boys jump from the 7th place to the 3rd position on the premiership standings with 43 points.

Annor Walker made two alterations to his Olympics' team that drew 0-0 with Eleven Wonders FC in Techiman last weekend.

Suspended goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku made way for Seidu Ismaila between the sticks. Kwaku was sent off against Wonders.

Iddrisu Murad was preferred in the midfield to Prince Afrifa who earned his maiden start for the Wonder club in the last week's game against Wonders.

Chelsea stop-gap coach Solomon Odwo made a couple changes to the team that were humiliated 5-1 by AshantiGold SC last Sunday at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Nana Yaw Afriyie paved way for Melike Dzako to make his very first start in the goalposts for Chelsea.

Also, Isaac Kwabena Arthur was handed first start of the season, replacing Collins Ameyaw with Owusu Osei shrugging off his injury to keep his place in the starting lineup.

Defender Zackaria Fuseini took the place of captain Jackson Owusu who suffered a knock in last Sunday's match against AshantiGold.

Olympics opened the scoring of the match as early as the 3rd minute through Amos Acheampong after curling in a beautiful one after receiving a pass inside the box from Samuel Armah.

Acheampong's strike was the difference at the break.

Olympics doubled their advantage and sealed the victory through substitute Samuel Abbey-Ashie Quaye who scored in the 73rd minute.
