2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Week 6 Match Report -Accra Lions 1-0 Eleven Wonders

Fredrick Asante's second half strike helped Accra Lions return to winning ways in a pulsating encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, December 4, 2021. 

The lanky forward controlled and coolly slotted home in the 78th minute, but his goal led to a harsh reaction by Eleven Wonders forward Amin Adams who attacked the linesman two.

The game started in explosive manner with Lions coming close twice in the opening minutes, Christopher Acheampong had his effort grace the post.

Eleven Wonders also had the ball in the net, but the referee whistled for offside.

The two sides created several chances but could not break the deadlock as the game went into the break without a goal.

But Accra Lions returned from the half determined, with Fredrick Asante getting the chance to break the deadlock, which he failed.

The forward was provided with another glorious opportunity, after striker Rauf Salifu took on two defender and laid the ball for him to slot home but he somehow missed.

Moments later the striker will redeem himself after controlling a pass and fired home for the winner.

Things got ugly after Eleven Wonders winger Amin Adams attacked the linesman leading to an eight minute hold up, and he was eventually red carded for his action.

Asante came close again with a thunderous strike which was punched the Eleven Wonders goalie, with Rauf Salifu following up with a shot which was cleared off the line.

The referee added ten minutes but Accra Lions held on to walk home with all three points.
