Karela United FC saw off newly-promoted side Accra Lions FC to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

The Pride and Passion side recorded a 3-0 emphatic victory in the matchday seven Ghana Premier League encounter.

The home team had three changes to the squad that lost 2-1 to Elmina Sharks FC at the Nduom Sports Complex last weekend.

Bismark Kobi-Mensah started Mathew Kelvin Andoh and Isaac Donkor in place of Richard Berko and Ebenezer Ocran respectively.

George Amonoo was brought back into the starting lineup as he replaced Kingsford Opoku Frimpong.

Lions interim coach James Francis Nicholas made four alterations to the team that pipped Eleven Wonders FC 1-0 in Accra in the last round.

Hagan Frimpong earned his second start of the season taking the place of Rich Sackey in defence.

Frederick Asante, Evans Ampofo and Abdul Fatawu Hamidu all paved away for the starting of Abass Samari Salifu, Abdul Rashid Abubakar and Frederick Akatuk respectively.

Karela opened the scoring of the match in the 31st minute through a spot kick which was converted by midfielder Umar Bashiru.

Lions defender Jacob Amu Mensah was cautioned for the tackle that led to the penalty.

The home side doubled their advantage three minutes from recess with a goal from Amonoo who scored his very first goal for the Nzema-Aiyinase based club.

Substitute Ocran completed the victory for Karela just one minute after coming on to replace Mohammed Humin Dafie in the 57th minute.
