Alexander Djiku: Ghana and Strasbourg defender pops up on Beşiktaş radar

Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has emerged on the transfer radar of Turkish giants BeÅŸiktaÅŸ.

The 27-year-old is a target for several clubs in Europe after a standout performance for both club and country.

Turkish outfit Besiktas are looking to sign the hugely talented Ghanaian centre-back this summer.

Besiktas have struggled at the back with Black Eagles coach Valerien Ismael seeking to prize the Strasbourg defender away to augment his squad next season.

Media reports claim Besiktas scouts watched the Ghana international in Strasbourg 1-0 defeat against Lille at the weekend.

The glowing scouting reports have heightened Besiktas interest in the highly-rated centre-back.

Djiku, who has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Lique 1, also also been phenomenal for Ghana.

His defensive partnership with Leicester City's Daniel Amartey proved crucial for Ghana as they secured qualification to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar at the expense of regional rivals Nigeria.

The Ghana international is a hot commodity in Europe with a number of clubs lining up for his signature.

Aside Besiktas, Djiku has emerged as a transfer target for La Liga side Real Betis as well as French outfit Rennes.

He has made 28 Ligue 1 appearances this season scoring one goal.

Djiku’s contract expires in 2023, meaning any interested club would need to raise funds in order to complete a transfer.
