Asamoah Gyan rates Dreams FC star Fatawu Issahaku as best player in Ghana Premier League

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has showered praise on teenage sensation Fatawu Issahaku who is dazzling on his Ghana Premier League season.

The U20 Africa Cup of Nations best player has adapted quickly to the league and is dominating games.

He has been scoring goals, creating big chances and dribbling for fun. Unarguably, Dreams FC’s most important player although he joined them few weeks before the league commenced.

For goals, he has four goals, all stunning, in five games, making him Dreams FC’s top scorer.

“I think he’s the best player in the league right now, Fatawu is the best player in the league. I think he’s ready, he’s ready to compete,” Gyan told Asempa FM, as quoted by Ghanaweb.

“It is my prayer that he continues this way and you know for everything consistency is key. Some players can start on a high but going forward then you see them declining.

“I’m praying that he becomes very consistent because I see a lot of qualities in him. He can be a very good player.”

Issahaku since bursting onto the scene at U20 AFCON in Mauritania early this year has never looked back. He has continued to improve and is now an assured member of the Black Stars.

He has played two games since Milovan Rajevac took over and is almost certain that he will make the squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The 17-year-old is said to have agreed a deal with Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon and will join them in January.
