Published on: 13 August 2021

Some players of Ashantigold and Inter Allies could be handed lifetime ban from football following the preliminary investigations of the match-fixing scandal from the game between the two teams on the final day of the season.

The game which ended with Ashantigold winning 7-0 was littered with scandalous goals.

Inter Allies defender Hashim Musah scored two ridiculous own goals, raising eyebrows over the credibility of the game.

After the match, the player disclosed the game had been fixed by an unknown group of people, who wanted the game to end at 5-1.

The unsavoury comments from the defender led to investigations, with a committee set by the Football Association to fish out the culprits.

The players invited by the committee for investigations, failed to give answers denying the game was fixed.

Meanwhile, some players have been figured to be heavily involved in the unpleasant act and could be banned for life.

GHANASoccernet.com can also report that Ashantigold and Inter Allies are facing demotion to the lower tiers of Ghana football after the preliminary investigations.
