Crystal Palace star Jordan Ayew disappointed with draw at Arsenal

Published on: 20 October 2021

Ghana forward, Jordan Ayew has expressed disappointment after a late goal from Arsenal prevented Crystal Palace from securing an important win at the Emirates.

The 30-year-old provided his first assist of the season in the match against the Gunners, after robbing off compatriot Thomas Partey the ball to set up Christian Benteke for the equalizer on 55 minutes.

Ayew believes the Eagles have taken some positives from the game and can only improve as the season progresses.

"Disappointed we couldn’t get a deserved win at Arsenal but a lot of positives to take away from the game. A solid team performance & great goals by Christian Benteke and Edouard Osdonne. We will review & keep improving. Thanks to the fans last night - you were amazing," he reacted on Twitter.

Pierre Emerick Augbamayeng had given Arsenal the lead after seven minutes before Benteke's leveler.

But the visitors took the lead in the 73rd minute through summer signing Edouard Osdonne.

However, a last gasp equalizer from second half substitute, Alexander Lacazette, stopped Palace from taking all three points away.
