Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu hogged the limelight of their Ghana Premier League game against Liberty Professionals lwith a heartwarming message to the club’s faithful.

The Phobians brought an end to their eleven-year league trophy drought with a 1-1 draw against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak needed a positive result from the encounter after closest challengers Asante Kotoko faltered at Bechem in an earlier game.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh put the Rainbow lads ahead with a sweet header at the death of the first half.

The hosts had plethora of chances to increase their lead in the second half but failed as Liberty rallied to pick a draw following a towering header by Paul Kwame in the 87th minute.

The result pushed Hearts of Oak beyond the reach of Asante Kotoko, who lost 2-1 at Bechem United, with a game to spare.

After the match, Samuel Boadu indicated his love for the Phobian fraternity with a large inscription of “I LOVE YOU PHOBIAN FAMILY” in front of his shirt.

The league title triumph is Boadu's first in his managerial career which started not long ago.

Medeama gave him the rare opportunity in 2017 as he was appointed head coach.

He took up the Hearts of Oak job midway through the campaign when the club was occupying 7th position.

Despite the club being in a precarious position, the 35-year-old gaffer worked hard to deliver the elusive 21st league title.

Boadu has the chance to win the double this season as Hearts are in the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup.
