Eleven Ghanaian players to be involved in the 2021/2022 Egyptian Premier League season, the second highest foreign contingent

Ahead of the start of the 2021/2022 campaign of the Egyptian Premier League, a research reveals 80 foreign players will be involved.

Each of the 18 teams participating in the Egyptian top-flight have at least one foreign in their squad.

Ghana have the second highest number of contingent with 11 players registered for the upcoming season.

Ghana follow Tunisia who have the highest number of players to feature in the Egyptian Premier League with 16 players.

The Ghanaian contingent includes John Antwi Duku who is the highest scoring foreign player in the history of the Egyptian League.

Antwi recently signed for Talea'a El Gaish from Pyramids FC and has previously played for Ismaily SC, Al Ahly SC and Misr El Makasa since 2015.

Last season's Ghana Premier League top scorer Diawisie Taylor also joined ahead of the new season.

Moro Salifu, Benjamin Bernard Boateng, Benjamin Afutu, Masahudu Alhassan, Evans Mensah and Stephen Kwame Sey all joined this transfer window and will be featuring for the very first time.

The league is kicking off on Monday 25 October 2021.
